Some days just call for relaxing. Some days you just need to do nothing productive.
But not every day.
Today was that day for me. Or has been. Things may change.
Outside of the face that I desperately want to see The Dark Knight a second time, I really don’t have much news for today.
I saw that Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, California will be hosting both Senator Obama and Senator McCain at a compassion forum. I guess they both agreed to attend however they will not share the stage with each other until the end or beginning of the event. Part of the agreement was that only Pastor Warren would be able to ask the questions and they will not reply to each other’s statements.
Pastor Warren is not endorsing either candidate. He said he is friends with both men and wanted them to come and let people see who they were and how they wanted to run the government.
A few evangelical Christians were upset the last time Pastor Warren did this. He had invited the candidates to his church while we were in the thick of the primary season.
No one should bring up the seperation of Church and State argument into this idea. People pull that so far out of context it isn’t funny. Go look it up for yourself and you will see where those who cry “foul” get it wrong.
I am really interested in what Senator Obama has to say because, unless it’s just me, I haven’t heard exactly what kind of leader he would be. I don’t know what policies he wants to pursue. All I hear from his campaign is “change, and unity”. Give us some steak with the soup, sir.
The same could be said for Senator McCain. What do you want to do?
We do have some time and they may be waiting until after they both announce who their Vice President choice is before they start in on their leadership message.
